A Happier Mind, Heart, Spirit, and Life – A Mini Essay

A Happier Mind

Zahra’s Zeal

If you want God to do the extraordinary, you have to believe in the extraordinary and then receive it. He’s a giver and wants to bless you. Don’t doubt that for even a moment…the world can seem so hopeless but God is still on the Throne. His plan cannot be stopped by a bad break, a disappointment, a person. God has the final say. Nothing that has happened to you is a surprise to God. He will still get you to where you’re supposed to be. So it does not matter how cold the world is, or who likes you and who doesn’t, because God, the Creator of the universe, loves you. God made you for a reason and your life has profound meaning, and that is all that matters. Trust that God will put the right people in your life at the right time and for the right reasons. Never forget, you may have weaknesses, but God has strength. You may have sin, but God has grace. You may fail, but God always wins.

There is a blessing hidden in every trial in life, but you have to be willing to open your heart to see them. Everyday, try to remember that God is at work in your life right now. He is directing your steps. What you thought was a setback is going to turn out to be a setup. God may not get us out of a situation, but He will give us the strength to get through it. When we can’t piece together the puzzle of our own lives, remember that the best view of a puzzle is from above. Let God put you together.

So go to Church, or whatever your place of worship is, and do not feel like you have to be a saint to deserve a place there! None of us are saints. Church and places of worship are not museums for perfect people! Nope, they are places for healing and prayer. A place of worship is a hospital for the broken ones to mend their wounds.

Forgive not because they deserve forgiveness, but because you deserve peace. When you choose to forgive those who have hurt you, you take away their power.

If rich person loses riches, they can be humbled. If poor person becomes rich, he can be humbled by seeing his beginnings in someone else. A lesson can be learned from everything, but that depends entirely on what you make of it. Thank the Lord for the lessons we learn. Be grateful for everything that you have and God will always come through for you. Be grateful for every opportunity, thank Him. Gratitude really is the best attitude, and until you start to show it, then don’t expect anything else. They say that gratitude keeps the devil away but when we complain he is here to stay. Remember as they also say, idle hands are the devil’s hands. Ingratitude is the devil’s attitude. Earn God’s blessings! Work for the goals you have. Above all, thank God for what you already have!

He who kneels before God can stand before anyone. Humble yourself and pray! Do not have too much pride to pray, do not be mad at the Lord. The words, “For every minute you are angry you lose sixty seconds of happiness,” which were spoken by Ralph Waldo Emerson, ring very true. Being happy doesn’t mean that everything is perfect. It means that you’ve decided to look beyond the imperfections. Never forget, it is through problems and failure, weakness and neediness that you learn to rely on Him. It is through trial and endurance that we learn our greatest lessons!

Have faith that God is living out a divine plan through you. Have faith in God, and stop worrying what others think. Happiness is about living your life and being happy with yourself inside out, and not worrying about what people think of you. In today’s world, we care too much what others think, don’t we?

Go for those dreams! In a week you will wish you had started today. So go for it. Pablo Picasso once said, “Only put off until tomorrow what you are willing to die having left undone.” Don’t procrastinate, go for it! Get your work done and do what will get you to your goals! Get those dishes done and get started on a new project! Take action! Do not be discouraged, and remember that we ourselves are our own greatest encouragers/discouragers. Live without regrets. Don’t look behind you, you’re not going that way. Learn from the past, live for today, and work for the future.

“The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams,” words spoken by Eleanor Roosevelt, are words by which our generation should live life. Do not beat yourself up if you fail, we all fail a few times in life. Only beat yourself up if you did not ever even try, for THAT is failure! Remember that who you are and who you want to be is separated only by your words and your actions.
