The Top 5 Things NOT cancelled during a pandemic

A reflection on the Coronavirus

Hi all! Like everyone reading this I too am affected by the Corona virus pandemic. A new way of life has been thrust upon us. Events at churches and major venues are being cancelled. As for myself, dear reader, I am now to work from home indefinitely. But do not despair, for there are several things still in effect in these trying times. I have compiled my personal top 5 (in no particular order):

#5 Easter is not cancelled

Easter is still scheduled for April 12th of 2020. In a greater sense, Christ is still the Resurrected King of Kings and Lord of Lords. He still reigns supreme over Heaven and Earth.

#4 Dignity is not cancelled

Sure the news is rife with stories of hoarding supplies and theft of test kits. But there are stories of hope abounding as well. Shelter anmials being given homes. The homeless being granted emergency shelters. Volunteers sewing face masks by hand. Human decency is all around; it just doesn’t make the media as often as it should. See the link below for proof:

#3 Faith is not cancelled

God is still listening and answering prayers. Front line nurses and doctors are still hard at work. Police, firefighters, and the military are still keeping us safe.

#2 Love is not cancelled

See all of the above. God’s love still reigns supreme. He has not abandoned nor forsaken the human race. And #1 in my top 5:

#1 Hope is not cancelled

One day this will all end. It will be a long time before things get back to “normal”, but make no mistake…there will come a day when the Coronavirus is contained if not completely erradicated. And what a joyful day that will be! God will see us thru to that day. It’s only a matter of time.

God Bless!

  • Saw a Priest giving Communion in Florida in cars….fully protected with gloves and mask and gown. Could this be a possibility in Sequim at St Joseph’s by Fr Leonardo?
